Summer break should be filled with adventure, creativity, and new experiences. But for many families, summer can quickly turn into long days of screen time. Tablets, phones, and video games often become the default activity when kids say, “I’m bored.”
The good news is that there are plenty of fun and engaging screen-free activities that help kids stay active, creative, and connected with others.

Kids love creating things with their hands. Crafts like bracelets, painting canvases, or decorating tote bags are simple and fun.
Create a list of items kids can find outside: flowers, rocks, birds, or shapes in nature.
Encourage kids to create a short play or dance performance for family members (i.e. a talent show or concert).
Put on music and let kids dance, sing, or experiment with simple instruments.
